Books Made in Qatar – Illustrators Workshop

Qatar National Library (QNL) in collaboration with Goethe-Institute Gulf Region and Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press cordially invite Qatari children’s book illustrators to participate in a free workshop, which will be presented by Ute Krause, one of Germany’s best-known children and young adults’ book authors and illustrators.

Qatar National Library (QNL) in collaboration with Goethe-Institute Gulf Region and Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press cordially invite Qatari children’s book illustrators to participate in a free workshop, which will be presented by Ute Krause, one of Germany’s best-known children and young adults’ book authors and illustrators.

If you are a Qatari aspiring illustrator or graphic designer of children’s books, please send an e-mail with some information about yourself, as well as your drafts for the following assignment, latest by 30 March 2017 to Maram Al Mahmoud at Booksmadeinqatar@qf.org.qa or Phone: +974 44542208.

Assignment

Please draw the following characters: a child, an adult and an animal (mouse, chicken or wolf). Show how the faces change when you want to express different feelings such as joy, anger, sadness, and surprise. Kindly, do not use a computer for drawing, only pencils and watercolors.

  • The selected participants will be contacted via email.
  • The workshop will be conducted in English.

9 - 13 April, 2017

Time: 9:00am - 3:00pm
