Qatar National Library Celebrates Holy Month With Wellness and Spiritual Enrichment Programs

4 February 2026

Qatar National Library presents a diverse February program designed to help the community prepare for the holy month of Ramadan. Through wellness talks, Islamic programs, cultural lectures, and inclusive community activities, the Library offers opportunities for individuals and families to engage in spiritual reflection, learning, and shared experiences.

The month begins with a celebration of National Sports Day. On 5 February, Qatar National Library hosts a session titled “Connecting Communities Through Inclusion: Sports for People with Disabilities”. The event highlights the power of sports to inspire, empower, and promote inclusion, emphasizing the importance of physical activity in fostering confidence and overall well-being.

On 11 February, the Gulf History Lecture Series continues with “Beyond Documents: The Importance of Oral History in the Gulf,” a lecture exploring the role of oral traditions in preserving cultural heritage and national identity. The session examines how institutional and community-led initiatives contribute to safeguarding living historical narratives.

To support healthy Ramadan preparation, Qatar National Library presents “My Health, My Choice: Ramadan Between Nutrition and Fitness” on 14 February. Led by wellness expert Khawla Albahar, the session provides practical guidance on balanced nutrition, safe exercise during fasting, and maintaining energy levels throughout the holy month, helping participants adopt sustainable lifestyle habits.

The Library's Ramadan-focused programs resume on 19 February with “The Prayer,” a featured event in the "Sayahdeen" series. The series fosters a sound and balanced understanding of Islam, drawing inspiration from the Holy Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the narratives of the prophets and their companions to deliver content that integrates authentic religious knowledge with core moral and ethical values.

The series continues on 26 February with The Story of Companion Salman Al-Farsi, offering further spiritual enrichment during the holy month of Ramadan.

The month concludes on 28 February with “Chat and Plant: Microgreens,” a monthly gathering for plant lovers, urban gardeners, and sustainability enthusiasts. Led by permaculture specialist Amal Rihan, this hands-on workshop teaches participants to grow microgreens, encourages the exchange of gardening tips, and explores creative ways to incorporate microgreens into Ramadan dishes, bridging wellness and spiritual preparation through sustainable practices.

The Library encourages all community members to participate in its upcoming activities. For more information about the Library’s programs and in order to register and attend these events, please visit our website at www.qnl.qa/ar/events or download our application on App Store or Google Play.
