In celebration of the World Diabetes Day, the Library, along with Qatar Diabetes Association and Sidra Medicine, is hosting several diabetes awareness events. You can take a free diabetes test and see if you are at risk of developing diabetes, and children will enjoy activities that highlight the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

Lego Boost lets you not only build models, but bring them to life. You'll learn the basics of computer programming as you use Lego bricks to construct a robot and make it obey your commands in this workshop organized by Qatar National Library.

Join this casual gathering of knitters and crocheters every Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 am to work on projects and share skills in a friendly atmosphere. Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies and projects or to borrow the Library’s needles and yarn. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners who are interested in learning. In the second monthly meeting of the English Fiction Book Club, we will discuss Secret Daughter, by Shilpi Somaya Gowda. In her debut novel, Gowda tells the story of an Indian mother who gives her daughter up for adoption, the American woman who adopts her and the child who connects them. Copies of the book will be available at the User Services Desk.

The Parent/Family Involvement Day celebrates the contributions that parents and families make to supporting children. To celebrate, join us for this workshop to learn how to create multisensory books and multimedia that is accessible for everyone. The workshop will be lead by Dr. Joselia Neves, Acting Director and Associate Professor from the Translation and Interpreting Institute.
