Join this casual gathering of knitters and crocheters every Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM to work on projects and share skills in a friendly atmosphere. Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies and projects or borrow the Library’s needles and yarn. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners who are interested in learning. Readers and Opinions Book Club: My Name is Faraj

In this month's meeting of Readers and Opinions, we will discuss the Novel My Name is Faraj, by Mohammed Ali Abdullah. In it, Faraj is abducted from his home in Zanzibar and forced into slavery as a pearl diver. He uses his talents to strive for freedom, but discovers that not all chains are physical when he falls in love with the daughter of a noble. Copies of the book are available at the User Services Desk.

Amazingly Different: A workshop on helping autistic children

To mark Autism Awareness Month, join us to learn how to recognize the characteristics and early symptoms of autism in children. A medical team from Hamad General Hospital will conduct workshops to introduce participants to available behavioral and pharmacological treatments. They'll also explain the services for autistic children and their families provided by Hamad Medical Corporation and other institutions in Qatar.
