Peter Bae believes that libraries exist not only to collect books, but also to connect people. As Senior Program Officer for SHARES and Resource Sharing Innovation at OCLC, he focuses on the human dimension of complex systems.
Peter built his career in the field of resource sharing, later serving as Director of the Bowdoin College Library and holding leadership positions at Princeton University. When the pandemic closed physical doors, he worked to open digital ones by founding RSCVD, a global volunteer network that enabled international research to continue during a time of crisis. He also helped develop Talaria to ensure that these connections remained enduring and resilient.
Peter is committed to the principle that a scholar’s ability to learn should never be limited by their geographical location.
