Tan Huism joined Qatar National Library in September 2021, prior to which she was the Senior Director of the Archives and Libraries Group at Singapore’s National Library Board.
Huism was also the Director of the National Library, Singapore, where she led the team in collecting, preserving and making accessible Singapore’s documentary heritage. She initiated the program to digitize Singapore-related materials held overseas, led the Digital Preservation Taskforce, initiated digital fellowships and creative residences and video-series featuring the library’s collections.
In addition, she also curated several exhibitions for the National Library, Singapore, including ‘Tales of the Malay World: Manuscripts and Printed Books’. She is also secretary of the National Libraries Section, IFLA.
Tan Huism will be a panelist in the Panel Discussion on 23 May 2022, which is part of the Libraries Lead Forum held under the theme "Libraries as Catalysts for Achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals ".
