Temporary Library Closure

Dear Library patrons,

As you may be aware, the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, or coronavirus, has resulted in the closure of schools, universities, and other institutions in Qatar. In the interests of the safety and well-being of our patrons and staff, Qatar National Library building is closed to the public until further notice.

However, our extensive Online Resources remain available 24/7 for members everywhere. They offer free access to ebooks, journals, magazines and newspapers, opportunities to stream video and music, and books and online activities for children and young adults. The Qatar Digital Library and our Digital Repository are also accessible to all users.

If you have any research, study, or general questions, please use “Ask Our Librarians” service. Click here to browse a short guide we have prepared for you regarding COVID-19.

The decision to close Qatar National Library has been made with your safety and health as our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding during this challenging time. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask through this form.

We are also providing our events and programs online via digital platforms, so please continue to visit the events page on our website and follow us on social media for updates.

About Borrowed Items

While the Library is closed, all borrowed items will be automatically renewed until further notice. Since the Education City is closed to the public, please keep all items until we reopen. Our Online Resources remain accessible 24/7 wherever you are.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
