Information is Beautiful: A Data-Driven Tour of the Universe

Dear guests,

Some of the Library’s events and workshops will continue to be offered online until further notice. About 24 hours before the event, a librarian will send you the link you can use to attend.

Drowning in information? Overwhelmed by data? Perhaps you are just not looking at it the right way.

Qatar National Library (QNL) is pleased to invite the public to this inaugural public lecture on visualized information, presented by David McCandless, a London-based author, data journalist and information designer.

For those of us navigating an age of info-overload, visualized information has incredible potential to help us find meaning in a complicated world.  Whether it is military budgets, bird flu outbreaks, time travel in sci-fi films or the contradictory scientific evidence for superfoods, infographics bring to life information and data too complex or abstract to grasp anyway but visually.

The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session.

Wednesday, 18 April 2018
12:30 – 01:30 PM
Venue
: QNL Special Events Area
Language: English, but Arabic interpretation will be provided

Seats are limited, please click here to register.

In this inaugural QNL Lecture, David will use visualization to tell stories about the way we live, exhibit enhanced journalism, reveal unseen patterns and challenge the audience’s way of seeing the world.
