He has more than 35 years of professional experience in managing and developing library, information and knowledge services across a diverse range of institutions and sectors at the national and regional levels, including the British Council, the Syrian Atomic Energy Commission, Damascus University and the United Nations.
Since 2012, he has contributed to developing information services and building the knowledge infrastructure for capacity-development programs at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). These include the Arab Cities Leaders Academy and ESCWA’s self-paced learning program, launched in 2020, which has become one of the leading specialized open-learning platforms available in Arabic.
He has also contributed to developing courses aimed at strengthening the research and policy-paper writing skills of young researchers, in collaboration with the Academic Network for Development Dialogue and several Arab universities, including Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar University, Al-Quds University and Sultan Qaboos University.
He holds postgraduate qualifications in library, information and knowledge management.
