Libraries and the Maker Movement: The Case of SDGs


The Maker Movement has become a linchpin for innovation and creativity in education and the culture of making is now gaining strength in libraries. In today's world, libraries do not just passively offer knowledge to visitors, but also engage in "making". This presentation will showcase best practices and modalities of how libraries have become loci of maker culture and how they can support meeting the UN’s Sustainable Development. The final section of the presentation will shed light on the implications of the maker movement for Qatar and more specifically Qatar National Library.
