The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has donated a selection of books to Qatar National Library as part of several collaborations aimed at enhancing and strengthening bilateral relations between Qatar and BIH. His Excellency Abdulah Skaka, Ambassador of BiH to Qatar, Ivana Pejovic, Counselor at the Embassy of BiH in Qatar, as well as representatives from the BiH community were welcomed by His Excellency Dr. Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al-Kawari, Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Al-Kawari said: “This donation is a prime example of the Library’s continued efforts to build cultural bonds across nations, and part of our program to receive and exchange books of all kinds with libraries around the world. BiH has a deep-rooted historical relationship with our Arab and Islamic cultures, which gives the donated books special value and importance to us. The Library houses thousands of books in many languages, which reflects our international nature and the multicultural community of Qatar that we cater to. We thank the BiH Embassy for sharing their rich culture and history with us.”

As part of its aim to promote imagination, discovery and nourishment to the human spirit, the Library will continue to invest its efforts to share knowledge and empower future generations across and beyond Qatar.
