Join us for a unique workshop about producing purple dye with Faisal Abdulla Al Naimi, Director of the Department of Archaeology at Qatar Museums. Participants will learn about the types of shells used by ancient humans in Qatar, how to extract the purple dye and how to apply it directly to fabric, transforming it into the maroon color for which Qatar has been known throughout its history and which is now a color of its flag.Don't miss this opportunity to deepen your knowledge of Qatar's history and cultural heritage!

How can photography document and preserve cultural heritage?This question will be at the heart of a discussion with two photographers who have been using analogue photography to capture Qatari culture since the 1980s. French photographer Vincent Aitzegagh, whose work forms a major part of QNL’s collection on Qatar’s traditional architecture, and Khalifa Al-Obaidly, one of Qatar’s leading fine art photographers, will share their professional experiences in an open conversation that aims to inspire audiences both in Qatar and beyond.
