To coincide with the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Library is pleased to announce the second annual Beautiful Athan contest. This contest is open to all community members who meet the following conditions:

Join this casual gathering of knitters and crocheters every Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM to work on projects and share skills in a friendly atmosphere. Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies and projects or borrow the Library’s needles and yarn. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners who are interested in learning. Be sure to check out our collection of books on knitting and crochet while you’re here!

Just like meditation, coloring allows us to switch off our brains from other thoughts and focus only on the moment, helping to reduce anxiety, create focus and increase our mindfulness. Join us for a special coloring session focusing on Islamic patterns. We will provide patterns and markers. Come for an hour or stay the whole time; this is an open session for you to relax and color your cares away.

Many years ago, an army on elephants marched to Makkah to try to destroy the Kaaba stone by stone. Who was this army? What happened to them? Come with us to hear the whole story of how Allah saved the Kaaba and defeated the enemies of Islam.

The Creative Writing Circle is an opportunity for creative writers to come together and share their work. The group will provide inspiration, feedback and encouragement in a supportive environment. So whatever stage you’re at, come along and get writing! Sessions will be held between 9 – 11 AM on Tuesdays.
