Book Club for the Blind

This book discussion is for visually impaired people, based on an audiobook from the Overdrive database. Hayy Ibn Yaqzan is an Arabic-language audiobook that tells the story of a person named Hayy Bin Yaqzan who grew up on an island alone, with the book examining his relationship to the universe and religion. The work also contains many stories and legends, which have philosophical lessons and implications.

What are the current resources and research literature?These and many other questions about the Islamic manuscript culture are at the heart of a lecture series organized jointly by Qatar National Library and the Center for Manuscript Studies at Fatih Sultan Mehmed Waqf University in Istanbul. Renowned international experts in Islamic codicology and manuscript studies will hold monthly talks, addressing scholars and the general audience alike.
